ClashBall Championship is a single- and multiplayer game about robots battling it out in a frenzied ballgame in an empty world … except for robots, I guess. Anyway, since mankind is absent (dead most likely), the robots take to playing ball. Sure, why not? And as if that’s not enough, they don’t play nice!

CBC started as a student project (named Crazy Balls at the time and not without reason) more than ten years ago. I made this game with Rune Skovbo Johansen, Lasse Sandgård Pallesen, and Peter Bjerregaard Vahlstrup—an amazing bunch of guys! Then I decided to start a game developing company (I’m not going into the sordid details of that disaster here—go to my ramblings for that) and asked them to join me and my partner, a very old friend of mine with whom I started the company. The Engine was the name of that company.

The very first mock-up of what was later to be known as CBC. LEGO is handy for that! (Just ask the crazy robot building scientists that worked there in the experimental robot lab!)

However, our greatest mistake was to neglect CBC and focus elsewhere. If we hadn’t done that I am one hundred percent sure that CBC would have turned out to be a very big success. It had every potential for greatness. And it would still be as fun today. So, one day I’m going to make that game … again!
